ABOUT NWAKA ONWUSA
Nwaka Onwusa is a cultural curator who is developing experiences through music, culture, and tech. Now working for The Hip Hop Museum, she previously joined the Rock Hall in 2019 as the Director of Curatorial Affairs and eventually Vice President and Chief Curator of Curatorial Affairs. Onwusa developed various Rock Hall exhibits, including “Induction All Access: Photography by Kevin Mazur\" and “The 2020 Hall of Fame Inductee Exhibit.” Onwusa was also the lead curator for the museum’s award-winning exhibit, “It’s Been Said All Along: Voices of Rage, Hope and Empowerment.” An exhibition highlighting how legendary artists responded to social injustice opened at the Rock Hall on July 25, 2020. Onwusa’s experience included a decade of work at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. She has specialized in emphasizing diversity in music.
