Plan, direct, and conduct helicopter ground and flight tests on newly designed, modified, and experimental aircraft and systems to determine compliance with design standards and performance requirements. Extensive work on communications, navigation, glass cockpit integration, Intelligence/Surveillance/Reconnaissance (ISR), and weapons systems. Perform aircraft and system performance, handling qualities, and specification compliance testing, as well as human factors evaluations. Direct and conduct test data acquisition and data reduction. Determine required test parameters and test equipment and plan tests. Direct activities of test team. Coordinate flight test program with airworthiness and certification authorities to ensure compliance with US Army, Department of Defense, and FAA qualification requirements. Coordinate with engineering team to provide technical recommendations determined during flight test. Assist in measurement and analysis of vibration data. Perform pre-flight planning and inspection of aircraft and systems to ensure readiness for flight. Prepare post-flight test reports. Identify shortcomings and safety related issues and make suggestions for improvements.
