About Nobu Kumagai

Nobu is an entrepreneur with several business operation experiences, and a corporate-startup business accelerator (providing ground-level execution support and strategic/financial advisories). Nobu is the founding managing partner at Wildcard Incubator - a Tokyo & San Francisco-based \"lean\" corporate-startup accelerator and one of the 1st to focus in food/ag/wellness in Japan with core teams spread across Japan, U.S. and S.E. Asia (with extensive partnerships with EU accelerators etc.). Wildcard helps U.S, EU & S.E. Asian startups achieve corporate partnerships, strategic funding with Japanese corporations on both global scale and Japan specific market entry under retained role. Wildcard also works closely along with major Japanese global food, ag and tech firms. Nobu/team have built and now running one of Japan’s leading food/ag-tech and wellness×tech accelerator primarily through Tokyo, San Francisco with extension partners in EU and Singapore/Thailand. Nobu brings over 10 years of investment banking and venture capital experiences throughout Tokyo, New York, Silicon Valley and Hong Kong. He has experienced both successes and (probably more) failures to date. He also worked alongside the founder at a Tokyo-based food service business.*As a sidenote - Nobu is also serves as guest editorial contributor for several mainstream online media including NewsPicks (*Japan\'s leading tech & business media), CNET Japan (Asahi Interactive), Forbes Japan (*past). He was also featured on several articles including Entreprenuer.com etc- On a more personal note, Nobu is an ordained Buddhist monk from a temple located in southernmost Japan where he overcame personal health issues through strenuous meditation practice- He \"used to play\" the cello where he is seriously considering of playing again.
