Pandemics and planning, so much fun! Managing change and learning new skills. Returned in 2018 to the Planning Department after spending a remarkable spring in the legislative office of Supervisor Jane Kim, I have a renewed awe of the talent that has been brought to the City Family in San Francisco. At the Board of Supervisors, I worked extensively with land use issues and the Central SoMa Plan specifically; introducing new legislation, taking it through the process; constituent issues and general support to an amazing team. From 2010 to 2013, I was engaged in the Landmark Designation Work Program, pursuing designation of several historic landmarks and districts in San Francisco. I am presently engaged with the public at the Planning Information Counter on a daily basis. From 2005 to 2010, duties included the design and implementation of a comprehensive citywide survey of culturally or architecturally significant buildings in San Francisco. As Survey Coordinator (term ending in June, 2009), was responsible for managing the survey program with roughly $4 Million since 2005. Worked on project team to issue RFP for survey in the Market and Octavia Area Plan; managed consultant contract. Managed consultant contracts for surveys in the South of Market, Central Waterfront, Showplace Square areas of San Francisco; participated in the development of preservation policies for area plans including: Market and Octavia, Central Waterfront, Eastern South of Market, and Showplace Square. I serve as Executive Vice President for my union which represents 11k+ Bay Area workers, am past Treasurer and president of the Planner and Environmental Specialists Chapter of IFPTE Local 21, and am serving my third term on the Union\'s Political Action Committee, as well as representative on the 2012, 2014 and 2019 Bargaining Committees for our new contract with the City.
