Health Educator -obesity Prevention Program @Sacramento County

Currently employed as a Health Educator in the Obesity Prevention Program (OPP). The overall goal of OPP is to reduce the prevalence of obesity and the onset of related chronic diseases in the CalFresh eligible population in Sacramento County. •Supervises and serves as Contract Monitor to two CA Dept. of Public Health (CDPH) grant-funded subcontractors, providing technical assistance, monitoring project deliverables, and evaluates grant activity progress •Supervises undergraduate and graduate level nutrition interns-delegating tasks, projects, and timelines •Serves in a lead capacity over county-wide Farmer’s Market activities offering technical assistance to market managers-conceptualizing strategic plans and analyzing market environments •Implements Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) State Physical Activity and Nutrition (SPAN) grant activities, including developing and improving worksite wellness policies and procedures •Effectively writes quarterly and bi-annual program reports submitted to state and national grant funders •Develops creative and engaging educational digital and print materials to support CalFresh Healthy Living program
