About Nicholas Troiano

Nick is originally from Westchester County, NY – where he grew up and attended school during the first 18 years of his life. After developing a passion for the weather at a young age, he ultimately decided to pursue a career in meteorology. After graduating from the University at Albany, State University of New York with a degree in Atmospheric Science in 2008, Nick went on to pursue graduate work the following year. He attended Plymouth State University in New Hampshire through 2010 and went on to receive his Master’s in Applied Meteorology at that time. From there, Nick went on to serve as the Lead Long-Range Weather Expert at WeatherWorks, and was responsible for issuing the company’s seasonal and tropical weather outlooks. He was also the primary forecaster in charge of maintaining some of WeatherWorks newest products, which he helped develop from the ground up. After serving this role for several years, Nick went on to accept an offer from Mars Chocolate North America - as a Buying Operations Specialist in support of the packaging category. After spending nearly a year managing the inbound supply chain network, Nick went on to become a member of the Commercial Applied Research Team in support of Mars Incorporated. In his role as Commodity Research Manager & Lead Meteorologist, Nick is currently responsible for delivering all the global seasonal weather outlooks in support of all raw material categories the business sources. He has also served as the primary research analyst across several categories - including coffee, peanuts, and treenuts.In his spare time, Nick prefers to stay active by partaking in numerous outdoor activities, including hiking, skiing, and playing tennis, just to name a few. He also enjoys socializing with friends, whether it be catching a quick drink after work or hosting a summer barbeque.
