ABOUT NIVEDITA SHIRPURKAR

I have completed my master\'s degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Lowell. During my first year in the coursework, I got fascinated by how a tiny change in the structure of the antibody during its production can completely alter the effect of the drug on the target and sometimes have severe negative consequences. It also helped me understand the importance of the media; which was crucial for cell growth during the culture cycle. I got a chance to explore the effect of alterations of the media composition which I carried out as my thesis work. I gained hands-on experience on working with High Pressure Liquid Chromatography, X-Ray Diffraction, and learned various analytical techniques such as cell culture, and related analytical skillset and working with and following GMP practices. I also learned data analysis techniques such as multivariate data analysis, Matlab, and gained a strong theoretical foundation about the upstream and downstream processes due to the courses that I studied. With all the above experience that I have gained, I want to learn and grow more in the areas of medium development, product isolation, and purification, and I am looking for full-time opportunities in those areas.
