ABOUT NIVEDITA SHAHI

I am a professional working in the domain of social and sustainable development with over 15 years of work experience, working with Health, Women and Child Development, and Education departments with a focus on the Right to Education, Maternal & Neo-natal health, Gender, Equity & Diversity, and policy advocacy. I have a graduate degree in law and a postgraduate degree in Social Work. My work focused on demonstrating best practices and pilots for strengthening ground-level implementation of some of the major programs of the Government of India: ICDS, SSA, and NRHM. Apart from working on health and education projects, I have been associated with Disaster Preparedness and Response. I have been deployed in 5 major disaster-affected areas to conduct a rapid assessment and relief distribution and worked as a trainer to facilitate training of CARE team members and partner NGOs on need assessment and emergency response. At present, I am associated with Quality Cell (An initiative of CARE India, UNICEF & Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) based at the State Project Office of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Uttar Pradesh. The Quality Cell at the State office function as a unit to plan, coordinate and ensure effective implementation of all the Quality inputs including teacher development across the State.
