ABOUT NITYA SONI
Nitya Soni is a semiconductor researcher with extensive hands-on experience in device fabrication, wide bandgap materials, and epitaxial growth. Currently, he works at the National Nano Fabrication Facility (CeNSE), IISc Bangalore, under the mentorship of Dr. Mayank Shrivastava. His expertise spans the complete process flow of GaN HEMT fabrication, including design, lithography, deposition, etching, metrology, and electrical characterization.With a strong background in GaN HEMT fabrication, MBE growth, and advanced electrical and structural characterization techniques, Nitya has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications in semiconductor devices, sensing technologies, and radiation metrology. His research journey includes roles at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, Solid State Physics Laboratory (DRDO), BARC, and CSIR-NPL, and he has presented his work at conferences such as IWPSD 2025. Several of his contributions have been published in renowned journals, including those by Springer.Beyond research, Nitya is deeply committed to innovation and social impact. He has led winning teams in national Hackathon like Toycathon, where they developed a refreshable Braille device for visually impaired individuals. Additionally, he has designed assistive technologies such as a cost-effective prosthetic hand for differently-abled users.Nitya was honored with the Research & Patent Award 2024 by NSUT and has qualified for the prestigious TIFR GS exam, alongside receiving other academic excellence awards.
