Manager - International Defence Business (Business Development) December 2008 – Till dateRole and Responsibilities • Develop Export market for L&T’s defence products > Build new streams of revenue through export of defence products and systems manufactured by L&T > Market analysis of countries and regions to identify and pursue export opportunities.> Interact with companies and government institutions from US, Europe, Middle East, Africa & Latin America > Frame & finalise cooperation agreements for partnership development > Frame proposals in response to enquiries(RFx)• Establish Joint Venture & Tie-ups with Foreign Technology Partners > Identify foreign technology partners to bridge technology gaps within L&T for pursuing Indian MoD programs > Establish Joint Venture and strategic partnerships with leading defence firms to achieve leadership in Global markets > Frame & finalise MOUs and Teaming / Consortium agreements along with Legal team for tie-ups• Key account management > Liaise with clients including leading Defence & Aerospace contractors and enabling them to meet Offset obligations of Indian GovernmentAchievements • Won deals valued at USD 9 mn from leading companies in Middle East & Europe etc in a period of 1 year• Participated in Euro Naval 2010, Paris and Defence Expo, Delhi multiple times and initiated discussion with business prospects• Attended conferences/seminars Naval Self Reliance 2009 - Delhi organized by CII, Global Partnership Summit 2010 - Chennai organized by CII, Ships 2011 - Cochin organized by CII and NMF (National Maritime Foundation)• Worked on finalizing more than 70 Co-operation Agreements with leading defense firms across geographies• Visited customers in Middle East to discuss existing proposals and generate new leads• Worked with ‘Corporate Communications’ team to design promotions for L&T in various international journals
