About Nitin Rane

Dr Nitin Rane is an established academician with a focused interest in Process Design, Energy Efficiency, Environmental Pollution Control, Thermodynamics, and Equipment Design, among others. He has a doctorate in Chemical Engineering and has rich experience in academics, research, and administration. He has 2 decades of experience in academics and consulting, and his expertise as a teacher and researcher has been extensively recognized. With numerous publications and citations in international journals to his credit, Dr Rane has also received notable grants to augment research and organised many activities for student and Faculty development. He played a key role in setting up many institutes and universities for MIT Group where he worked in Leadership roles. As a competent professional, he has represented the MIT Group of Institutions, Pune at several national and international platforms and has contributed immensely towards the overall development and progress of MIT Group.A celebrated author of 25 plus national and international research papers in archival journals and peer-reviewed conferences, Nitin is also the author of several book chapters. He reliably demonstrates efficient time management, and successful teamwork and upholds the importance of strong work ethics, persistence, and intellectual integrity. Currently, Dr Rane is Professor and Vice-Chancellor at Avantika University, Ujjain. He leads by example and colleagues and students find his enthusiasm both motivating and promising. • Dr Rane has a major role in the sponsor change of the University of Technology and Management Shillong, a private university in Meghalaya established in accordance with section 2(f) of the UGC, amended vide the University of Technology and Management (Amendment) Act, 2017 (Act No. 4 of 2017), published in the “Gazette of Meghalaya (Extraordinary): vide No. LLB 47/2010/115 dated 4th April 2017. • Dr Nitin played a major role in the name change of the university from the University of Technology and Management Shillong to Maharashtra Institute of Technology University of Meghalaya, amended vide The University of Technology and Management (Amendment) Act, 2018 (Act No. 4 of 2018), published in the “Gazette of Meghalaya (Extraordinary)”, vide No. LL(B) 47/2010/124 dated 27th April 2018. • Dr Nitin has a key role in the establishment and development of: o Avantika University Ujjain o MIT Arts, Commerce and Science College Alandi, Pune o MIT School of Telecom Management Kothrud, Pune o MIT College of Education Alandi, Pune
