ABOUT NITIN BASSI
Nitin Bassi is a Natural Resource Management specialist with more than 19 years of experience in research, policy analysis, consultancy, and training in water resources sector. Presently, he works as a Senior Programme Lead, Sustainable Water with the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). His areas of work include River Basin Water Accounting, Agriculture Water Management, Institutional and Policy Analysis in Irrigation and Water Supply Management, Water Quality Analysis, Climate Variability and Risk Analysis, and Wetland Management. He has been engaged as a specialist in projects, research studies, and assignments supported by various national and international organizations including the European Commission, World Bank, GIZ, DFID, WRG 2030/IFC, UNICEF, WWF, IWMI, Fresh Thoughts Consulting, SRTT, SDTT, etc. He played a key role in the establishment of the India-EU Water Partnership (IEWP) and its work priority areas. He was a Member of the Water Quality Task Force (River Ganga), set up by the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India. He has co-edited five books, two published by Routledge, two by Springer, and one by Sage Publications. Further, he has published book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles and has been part of several national and international conferences as a speaker and panelist.
