About Nithyananda Vishnu
I\'ve spent 13+ years in networking — starting as an intern writing IPSec scripts in Bengaluru, now a Principal Engineer at HPE designing full-stack solutions for brands like McDonald\'s, Swift, AT & T, and Vodafone. My path through Juniper Networks took me from CGNAT and flow monitoring on MX routers, through SD-WAN and cloud-native deployments, into customer-facing solution architecture. Along the way, I moved from India to the Bay Area, picked up 7 U.S. patents, and never stopped writing code. I design overlay networks and secure WAN architectures, build Terraform and Python automation that cuts deployment times, debug microservices and routing issues when production is on the line, and lead POCs and customer escalations where things absolutely have to work. I once replaced ~500 AWS instances with an in-house automated server farm I built from scratch, saving OPEX. Testing is where I learned to think about networks from every angle — I\'ve built traffic generators, automation frameworks, and acceptance suites that teams still rely on. I also mentor engineers and lead the kind of brainstorming sessions that turn into patent filings. McDonald\'s Dessert Cart | Mobile Retail ConnectivityArchitected and delivered a novel mobile retail connectivity solution for McDonald\'s Dessert Cart, designing a custom GRE-over-IPSEC overlay with Prisma SASE, MPLS pseudowires, and targeted LDP to extend secure Layer 2 connectivity from remote event locations back to the store network. Led end-to-end POC, customer demo, and production-ready qualification with full redundancy and Mist AI-based monitoring, solving a use case beyond native platform capabilities. Swift Payment Network | Secure Cloud SD-WANLed end-to-end qualification of Juniper vSSR deployment in AWS for Swift\'s highly secure payment network, validating a multi-stage secure onboarding workflow with Staging-to-Production conductor migration over SVR overlays. Debugged failed AMI deliveries, qualified multiple private builds via Terraform/CloudFormation, filed critical bugs, and drove resolution to enable a smooth customer POC. Architected AWS networking (VPC, Transit GW, NAT GW, security groups) with strict segmentation, ensuring Spoke SSR connectivity to conductors exclusively via encrypted overlays with BGP-over-SVR for route advertisement, meeting Swift\'s zero-trust requirements.
