As a Research Scientist specializing in clinical Natural Language Processing (NLP), I drive innovation at the intersection of AI, healthcare, and complex document understanding. I lead the design and development of platforms that turn unstructured clinical data into actionable insights, collaborating with diverse teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions. My work spans cutting-edge generative AI, domain-specific OCR, and visual language models for document understanding, transforming how healthcare organizations leverage their data.Highlights:* Spearhead the development of the Document AI engine powering advanced clinical document understanding - a stand-alone platform as well as the ingestion platform for our Medical Language Engine.* Architect and own a custom, highly accurate OCR pipeline purpose-built for the complexity of healthcare documents, including patient data, labs, and measurements.* Contribute to the design and implementation of generative AI and embedding models for structured data capture from unstructured medical texts.* Build and innovate with text and visual language models and novel algorithms for interpreting multimodal clinical data.* Rigorous evaluation of generative AI models on core clinical NLP tasks, ensuring high reliability and regulatory readiness.* Partner closely with data scientists, clinicians, and engineers to transform findings into scalable, production-ready tools that improve healthcare workflows.
