Hello! I\'m Nishit Mittal. I have a strong interest in autonomous systems, robotics, and AI. Internships & Research Experience Research Intern – Robotics Design Lab, University of Queensland, Brisbane, AustraliaDeveloped terrain sensing and leg trajectory systems for the Tiny Giant Robot (TGR) biped, enhancing its ability to walk stably over complex terrains, steps, and slopes. Robotics SDE Intern – Orangewood Labs, San Francisco (Remote)I converted a reinforcement learning-based robotic arm simulation from ROS2 to ROS1, optimized vision-based model performance using RealSense packages and Docker containers, and built a robust data collection pipeline. Research Intern – Indian Institute of Technology KanpurWorked on Monocular Visual Perception for Nano Drones, developing computer vision algorithms for the Tello drone and simulating autonomous tasks with the Iris drone using MAVROS in a custom 3D Gazebo world. Major Achievements:🥈 1st Runner-Up – International Rover Challenge (IRC) 2025Led the team of 30+ members as Vice-Captain, securing 1st Runner-Up outperforming all IITs, NITs and even Russia\'s MSU Rover Team.🥇 Winner – ERC Hackathon 2024 (BITS Goa)Led the development of an Autonomous Electric Failure Detection Robot, winning 1st prize and awards for Best Automation and Best Mechanical Design. Winner – Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2023Created a real-time monitoring dashboard for construction projects, winning the national prize with a cash award. Finalist – Student Competition on Innovative Workplace Practices for Persons with DisabilitiesDeveloped computer vision systems for workplace accessibility, earning special recognition. MEITY TIDE 2.0 – Govt. of India Project FundingSecured ₹7 Lakhs in funding for an IoT-based Smart Helmet, which led to a published patent.
