About Nishi Kollu
I’m a Software Engineer (SDE) who learned engineering by building systems that had to survive real traffic and real failures.I started by building backend services and APIs for transaction-heavy systems, then grew into working on cloud-native, distributed platforms, including revenue-critical systems at Amazon. That experience taught me to value ownership, simplicity, and thinking beyond just code into scale, reliability, and how systems behave in production.Today, I build and own backend services end-to-end: designing APIs, deploying to AWS and Kubernetes, monitoring systems, and debugging production issues. Much of my work involves event-driven architectures and scalable microservices, and I collaborate closely with frontend teams supporting React/TypeScript applications through clean REST and GraphQL APIs.I enjoy working on software that’s easy to reason about, reliable under load, and built to last. I’m currently looking for full-time Software Engineer / SDE roles where I can continue growing and take ownership of meaningful systems.I thrive in solving complex problems, optimizing systems for performance, and integrating modern cloud technologies to drive efficiency and innovation. Whether working on modernizing legacy systems or building greenfield applications, I focus on delivering results that create measurable impact for the business.Let’s connect! I’m always excited to collaborate on projects that push the boundaries of technology and deliver real value.

Owned design and development of multi-tenant, highly available cloud services, responsible for API design, scalability, performance tuning, and production stability across distributed microservices• Made architectural decisions around synchronous vs asynchronous processing to balance latency requirements, throughput needs, and operational complexity• Designed REST APIs and internal service interfaces with clear contracts, authentication, and backward compatibility to support long term maintainability• Built and operated large-scale distributed streaming pipelines (Kafka, Flink), handling backpressure, failure recovery, and latency-sensitive workloads• Standardized deployment and release workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines, improving reliability and repeatability• Drove incident response and post-incident analysis by identifying root causes and implementing durable fixes to reduce recurrence across release cycles
