About Nishant Nish Acharya
My research aims to address the issue of detection and analysis of weakly connected network infrastructure, like Internet Exchange Points, Data Centers, CDNs and others. For example, if there is a network outage how likely is a set of users going to be affected?To that end I have contributed to multiple projects revolving around network measurement and statistical analysis. I also inculcated a deep understanding of optimization and scheduling techniques from my time as a Operating Systems Teaching Assistant (and working with public measurement systems like RIPE)I am passionate about router based networking, and you can find me tinkering my home network to optimize video pings, securing IoT devices, managing personal servers or scheduling network wide commands.

Working as a Student Researcher for ISOC, collborating with Vasilis Giotsas, Alexander Gamero-Garrido and Amreesh Phokeer to identify IXP centrality in countries- The project aims to identify central IXPs in terms of their connection to the internet, and will help in increasing internet resilience and increase connectivity under adverse conditions.
