I work on the Alignment Team supporting the development and optimization of Mainspring Energy’s proprietary Linear Generator, a next-generation, oil-free power system that uses compressed air to generate electricity through reciprocating linear motion, without combustion or rotating machinery. Its innovative use of air bearings and air springs eliminates the need for lubrication, reducing friction, maintenance, and emissions while improving reliability.My responsibilities involve ensuring the precise mechanical alignment of critical components within tight tolerance zones. This requires detailed involvement in the mechanical design and GD & T definition of these parts, as well as their integration into the assembly. I employ finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural stress, deformation, thermal gradients, and heat transfer behavior during operation.
