Looking after all the Banking related legal issues including Corporate, Retail, SE and Agricultural credit, Bank Guarantees, Infrastructure Finance Documentation, Consumer cases, replies to Customer complaints, Banking Ombudsman matters, NPA Recovery matters, Banking Operations related matters, premises related matters and various other legal issues related to the Banking business and day to day operations.• Responsible to independently advice the branches & Controlling/Regional Offices and field functionaries of business and operations departments for its more than 380 Branches and its Controlling/Regional offices on various legal issues related to credit documentation, credit operations, recovery, Foreign Branches related legal issues.• Monitoring and managing systematically and efficiently the delinquent legal portfolio across different products through DRT, Civil Courts, NCLT etc. Advising on various legal issues relating to SARFAESI action, Civil and Criminal Litigation, DRT/DRAT Matters, Consumer cases, Banking Ombudsman complaints, Section 138 matters, Arbitration matters, etc. Preparing/Vetting Complaints, Plaints, Written Statements, Replies, Affidavits, etc• Furnishing legal opinions to Branches and other departments on various law related issues, rules and regulations touching the bank’s business matters including the Banking Laws, RBI Regulations, FEMA, Companies Law, Business Laws, criminal Laws, Civil Laws, Labour Laws etc and to ensure that the transactions are done compliant to the rules and regulations.• Advising Branches, field offices and Controlling Departments on various operational issues involving Contractual Law, Negotiable Instruments Act, Transfer of Property Act.
