Sep 2025 — Present · Boston, MA, US
As the inaugural instructor for Boston University School of Law’s first Animal Law course, I design and teach a curriculum that bridges traditional legal analysis with contemporary challenges in ethics, environmental policy, and public health. My course introduces students to the evolving legal status of animals, covering tort, property, and constitutional frameworks alongside international and comparative perspectives. Through an interdisciplinary approach, I integrate scientific and social science research, such as environmental impact studies and public attitude surveys, to help law students critically evaluate regulatory systems, corporate accountability, and policymaking affecting animals and ecosystems. In addition to teaching, I mentor students pursuing careers in public interest law, animal advocacy, and environmental justice, and collaborate with faculty across disciplines to expand BU Law’s engagement in the emerging field of Animal Law and Policy.
