About Nirav Saiya

First and foremost, I love financial modeling. Ever since I created my first financial model in MS Excel, I have been obsessed with the idea of using software to resolve practical problems. Security analysis is a never-ending puzzle that I am passionately engaged in solving. I believe in the power of rationality and having an eagle\'s eye\'s view of the industry and macro variables to determine the value of the security and its role in an investment portfolio. I loved all the courses I studied during my CFA examinations, and so, my curiosity drove me to explore various fields in the vast spectrum of financial services. As my first professional experience, I worked as a financial planner in the wealth and portfolio management industry. I moved on to understand the dynamics of the credit risk analysis framework by working at Citi. Lastly, I explored the fast-paced and challenging career in Investment Banking as an Associate and Analyst, where I created and presented numerous presentations using MS PowerPoint and MS Word and gained expertise in the wonder of Financial Modeling. I have experienced the process of elimination first-hand, and if you are unsure of what you want to do, as I once was, I can\'t advocate it more to you. It\'s been years since I created my first financial model and presented it. Today, I have designed and presented numerous models for companies in the start-up structure, private companies with proven and unproven histories, or complicated listed stocks for equity research, and I can\'t get enough of it. When I am not working, I read financial novels, track extra-terrestrial objects using an astronomy application on my phone, play board games or an outdoor sport, play the guitar, or create financial models. I am currently reading Security Analysis by Benjamin Graham, trying my hand at tennis, and learning to cook exotic Indian dishes.
