I lead the development of innovative products at the intersection of Machine Learning (ML), Data Science, signal processing, and sensors, with a proven track record. I spent 10 years at Amazon in various technical lead and applied science lead roles, both at AWS and Amazon GO, spinning out many applied science initiatives from concepts on paper to successful products. I have provided technical leadership to multi-disciplinary teams involving science, data, software applications, sensors and HW systems. I like dealing with high levels of ambiguity - just love it, help derive consensus, and often not afraid to challenge the status quo. I lead the vision, provide scientific direction, comfortably delve into the details of implementation and infrastructure problems when needed. I am a hands-on practitioner and practical problem solver who rolls up the sleeves and dives in. I worked for 3.5 years at the University of Southern California (USC), leading a first-of-its-kind project for ONR (Office of Naval Research) to a successful demonstration. I conducted ten years of academic research at institutions and research centers in US, Canada and Singapore, researching cutting-edge fields. I hold 23 granted patents spanning diverse technologies, with 30 research publications in reputed journals and conferences.
