About Nina Rose
I am a Clinical Psychology fellow and APsA candidate at the Austen Riggs Center, where I serve as a psychotherapist through the Erikson Institute fellowship in a residential psychoanalytic treatment setting. My clinical approach is trauma-informed and psychodynamic. I am particularly interested in how trauma within family systems shapes affect regulation, identity, and the capacity for symbolic thought. During doctoral training, I developed a passion for working with artists and creative professionals, an area I hope to continue to develop in clinical practice. My research bridges psychodynamic theory and health psychology. My dissertation examined the working alliance and group process in mindfulness-based therapy for migraine and depression, comparing telephone and video delivery formats, reflecting my interest in technology, the therapeutic frame, and health equity. Earlier work includes a master’s thesis on alexithymia and childhood adversity in borderline personality disorder, published in the Journal of Personality Disorders and recognized with “Best Poster” at NASSPD. More recently, I led a project on health literacy disparities in headache self-management, presented orally at the American Headache Society Annual Conference, and co-authored a book chapter on a novel coding method for SASB.
