ABOUT NINA MATZAT
I’ve been building a life in and speaking about tech for 15+ years — from early years in digital strategy, sales and creative transformation to leadership roles shaping how brands and companies think about technology. My journey took me from 8y at Google (where I introduced AdWords, mobile marketing, digital storytelling and creative effectiveness to clients and agencies within the Google Sales Team), via self-employment and freelancing as Digital Creative Consultant into leadership in Emerging Tech.Today, as co-founder of Plan.Net Studios (part of the Serviceplan Group) — I am growing a global studio for new technologies with my amazing co-founders, our path leading from Spatial Computing to Web3/Blockchain and to AI. Right now, I spend my days with a brilliant and diverse team and partners located in Germany, Switzerland, South Africa and India, building agentic AI solutions, services and platforms, delivering true innovation in the form of our Sumi product suite (Blockchain + AI = LOVE). We are helping organizations - read: people - not just use AI, but think differently about what AI can enable — from reimagining workflows to new business models. I love that the work we do sits at the intersection of human needs, creativity and technology. I need a diverse and psychologically safe environment to thrive, there simply is no space for toxicity in a room where we spend the majority of our days. Collaboration is king - politics and ego just stand in the way of great teams, success - and fun. Failing = Learning. Learning & Growth > Status. I prefer diagonal and diverse over straight careers. And I care deeply about leading in ways that make space for everyone to bring their whole selves to the work - bc we are all humans. Remote work isn’t a perk — it’s a recognition that meaningful impact doesn’t just live in corporate offices and that flexibility and autonomy help us do our best work. I believe that great ideas come from diverse perspectives and real human connection — whether that’s in an office, via screen, or in a cafe at the other end of the world. Oh and dogs. Don\'t forget dogs. These are daring and transformative times and I believe that curiosity, courage, and collaboration are the way to move forward. And that\'s no bullshit bingo. I really mean that.
