As a Software Engineer at Cisco, worked primarily on Cisco’s Identity Services Engine (ISE), an industry leader in network solutions. Developed features focusing on authorisation policies for devices in a network. Wrote clean and scalable Java code reducing API latencies from 10 seconds to 3 seconds using multi-threading, with Unit, Functional and Integration tests for bug-free features. Utilised Spring Boot framework, along with OracleDB for database operations, Python for automation and JUnit for Unit Testing with a code coverage of more than 90%.Furthermore, exposed and consolidated pertinent telemetry data by optimizing ElasticSearch queries to sift through 2 million endpoints’ data in under 10 seconds and manipulating them to present a clear and concise picture of the application’s working. Created sleek PowerBi reports, intended to gather usage and deployment metrics from all users, and present this in an intuitive manner. Decreased refresh times of Power Bi reports by more than 60%, i.e, from 5 hours to 2 hours, by optimizing database queries for20 tables with 8 million rows each using Amazon Athena and PL/SQL queries.Collaborated with 8 teams across India, United States of America and Israel to develop Backend features for Cisco’s Common Policy, a cutting-edge initiative to integrate Cisco’s various network solutions.Worked on the Endpoint Analytics project, part of Cisco’s Catalyst Centre, which aims to profile and monitor the endpoints in a network and detect any anomalous behaviour by identifying 8 potential anomalous behaviours of an endpoint. Developed backend features using Java and SpringBoot, and integrating MongoDB for database operations. Utilised Docker and Kubernetes across all projects to deploy and test, with Jenkins for CI/CD and Jira for project management.Completed Master of Technology degree in Computer Science from IIT Madras, where I completed a project on Correlated Multi-Armed Bandits with Risk Optimization, applying machine learning techniques to optimize decision making under uncertainty. Also have experience as a teaching assistant for two courses on programming and machine learning. A quick learner with a flexible approach to problems, and I enjoy working on challenging and innovative projects that have a positive impact on the customers and the society.
