ABOUT NINA RADCHENKO-HANNAFIN

I am an undergraduate student majoring in Applied Physics and minoring in Mathematics at Clark University. I am conducting an independent project in Professor Alexander Petroff’s laboratory, where I have been studying magnetic bacteria and microfluidics for the past two years, and contributed to a published paper. I received the Edwin A. Weiller Science Fellowship in support of my research this past summer. This research has fostered an interest in biophysics which I am pursuing after completing undergrad this spring, and am currently supplementing with courses in biology. To bolster my interest in scientific writing, I have written about research in biophysics for Clark’s newspaper, and previously shadowed the Senior Editor of Smithsonian Magazine. I have also invested in finance, through an internship with Primerica and am studying for my life insurance license, as well as having taken a quantitative finance course. In addition, I speak English, Russian, and Spanish at a professional level, have a multi-cultural background and have lived overseas. I am prepared to work outside of the US after completing my undergraduate degree.
