There is power in numbers! When UN Systems, governments and civil society are requested to develop a new policy, report or strategy it’s easy to rely on past experiences. The mandates are big, budgets are low and the stakes are high. But what if by including citizens, experts, policy makers we can develop a dialogue to not only develop a stand alone document but to ensure that its inclusive, that it captures the real issues from the people that will use it, that it brings to light the opportunities and risks and that it’s transparent. Being an Engagement Specialist means I get to connect people with the issue at hand. Through facilitated online consultation we help empower people to have their voices heard and take part in policy dialogues.
