About Nina der Torossian

I am an incoming graduate student of Translational Medicine at University of California, Berkeley and University of California, San Francisco. Soon I will have the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders, engineers, and students who seek to contribute meaningfully to patient centered medicine through the development of therapies and devices. Professionally, I am the Business Development Manager at Neurosoft Bioelectronics; a Switzerland-based company leading in minimally invasive brain computer interfaces (BCIs). I am working to expand the company to the US.In my undergraduate at Chapman University, I received my B.A in Psychology and Neuroscience with Cum Laude. At Chapman, I was involved undergraduate research for 2 years at the Interdisciplinary Brain Institute as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Notably, I was the President of the Armenian Student Association; helping to organize Armenians throughout campus via activity and cultural appreciation. I also worked under Dr. Caroline Wilson Ph.D; Associate Dean of Crean College; as her faculty assistant. Finally, I was a Teacher’s Assistant to Dr. John Hunter, Ph.D for his Health Psychology course: where I graded student work, held weekly office hours, and taught a class on “Supplement Regulation and Manufacturing Practices.” At Chapman I learned how to balance my academic and professional responsibilities with extracurricular activity, helping me to grow and develop while honoring all of my disciplines. On the side, I am earning my Biotechnology Manufacturing Certification at Skyline College as a means of further learning and skill acquisition. I am training myself to be efficient, precise, and accurate in a lab setting; understanding the backend of biotechnology as it applies to industry. While here I have earned numerous BCSI certificates showing my credibility through a third party. I work directly with QC, GMP, and Good documentation practices; understanding further than conceptual knowledge through practice. I also volunteer at the Biomanufacturing club which works with a nonprofit called BABEC to provide science materials to Bay Area high schools.I am passionate about neurological phenomena and its application to industry. Considering my work with data analysis, neurotech, current research, IRB and SOP compliance, and biotechnology; my experience makes me indispensable and well versed.
