Local jazz singer, Selina Chiarelli, hosts “The Firebird Sessions” as a place for local female jazz musicians to showcase their unique voices in a pared-down, jazz format. Each \"session\" ends with an open jam where women are first in line to explore different sounds, interactive solo/combo techniques, and song concepts in a free-jazz format.

ABOUT NIN CHIARELLI
I am a broadcast host, storyteller, and cultural worker with more than twenty years of experience in radio, performance, public communication, and community-based arts.My work blends interviewing, narrative design, applied theatre, and music, with an emphasis on connecting people through story.At CFRC Radio, I’ve hosted long-form conversations with artists and thinkers including Marion Newman, Laila Biali, Jeremy Dutcher, Marjan Mozetich, Joel Ivany, and members of the Danish String Quartet. My interview style is grounded, intuitive, and calm under pressure, with equal attention to research and the emotional reality of the person in front of me.Beyond broadcasting, I design and facilitate narrative and communications programs for institutions and community organizations. For Aga Khan Foundation Canada, I created and led the Champions Program—a national storytelling training initiative for ambassadors, medical specialists, and field staff working in global development.I’ve worked in Montréal, Toronto, Paris, Melbourne, and Kingston across theatre, music, intercultural facilitation, public arts, and education.
