Detecting Methane Leaks in SETX Soils from Buried Pipelines through Employing Infrared Optical Imaging and Acoustical Emission Systems\"•Employing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for data analysis and Visualization to accurately quantify methane leakage rates and study its fluid dynamics through various soil types By MATLAB /COMSOL /ANSYS Fluent Processing model, alongside advanced visualization for clear interpretation.•Conducted CFD simulations using ANSYS Fluent, accurately modeling methane gas leakage from buried pipelines, predictingmethane dispersion patterns up to 4 meters with a 95% accuracy compared to experimental data.• Analyzed methane cloud expansion under varying soil types (clay, sand, silt) and methane velocities (0.028 m/s), identifying that horizontal dispersion exceeded vertical spread by 20% due to soil cloud interference.• Optimized simulation accuracy by adjusting inlet boundary conditions, resulting in a 15% reduction in computational errors when using velocity-based boundaries versus pressure-based boundaries.• Validated CFD model results against real-world experiments, achieving a model prediction error margin of less than 10% for methane concentration and gas release rates ranging from 3 to 24 L/min.
