About Nimi Rama

I began my journey with McDonald’s in 2001 at just 14 years old. As the son of immigrants from Kosovo, I was eager to work hard, contribute, and create opportunity. What started as a part-time job quickly became a lifelong career. After being hired as a crew member and earning my first promotion to Shift Manager, I realized McDonald’s wasn’t just a job it was a land of opportunity.Driven by a passion for people, operations, and progress, I advanced through the organization with purpose. In 2013, I was honored to receive the Ray Kroc Award, recognizing the top 1% of managers worldwide. Along the way, I was also named Operations Supervisor of the Year and earned multiple Class Contributor Awards across BSM, ASM, and EMP programs affirming my commitment to excellence and continuous learning.Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to help lead and implement major brand initiatives, including McCafé deployment, Restaurant Department Management, CIT, promotional food events, and Vision 2020. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of the business and taught me how to lead through change, influence at scale, and execute with discipline at the restaurant level.As my responsibilities expanded, I stepped into the role of Director of Operations, driving performance across a broader scope. Most recently, I was honored to be promoted to Vice President of Operations, where I now help shape strategic direction while remaining grounded in the values that built my career.Leadership, to me, is about more than performance it’s about building strong teams, focusing on details, and holding high standards. I live by the mindset of “stay ready, not get ready,” believing great leadership starts with presence, preparation, and leading from the front.I’ve had the privilege of being featured on Fox Business and currently serve on the National Mid-Manager Council, collaborating with peers nationwide to elevate operations and strengthen our future. I was also humbled to receive the National Mid-Manager Operations Award, a reflection of the incredible teams I have the honor to lead.People development is my greatest passion. I believe investing in others unlocks potential, builds culture, and drives long-term success. My journey from crew member to Vice President is proof that McDonald’s is more than a restaurant; it’s a pathway. My goal is to one day become an Owner/Operator, and I continue pursuing that dream with the same grit and heart that started this journey more than two decades ago.
