ABOUT NILS DESPORTES
I work as an expert in personal data law (e.g. GDPR) and Artificial Intelligence compliance (e.g. EU AI Act) at the head office of an international group. I am also a lecturer on these subjects at a higher education institution. Reporting to the Group DPO & AI Compliance Officer, I carry out reviews and support European and non-European teams in their compliance. I am responsible for - Auditing various teams (DPO, compliance, CDO, HR, risk, projects, purchasing, etc.) to check that their practices comply with applicable laws and standards. My reviews cover governance, allocated resources, processes and technical aspects- Presenting action plans and recommendations to local and Group management teams- Ensuring closure of recommendations- Collecting maturity reports from entities. Finally, I thrive in international environments: having studied for a year in the UK, I work equally well in English and French.
