The case load involves matters which include civil rights violations, personal injury, motor torts, derivative actions, and contract claims, among others. Responsible for all matters in assigned cases, including drafting, responding to, and compelling discovery; procuring and handling experts; researching, drafting, and arguing motions; building cases and otherwise preparing them for trial and mediation. Assists the Managing Partner with administrative matters, allocation of client funds and fees in the firm’s complex class and mass actions, researching claims in complex cases, and drafting complaints and memoranda. Has taken and defended hundreds of depositions, including experts and corporate designees. Has tried multiple cases as a first chair and as a second or third chair. Administrative RoleWith the firm’s Case Flow Manager, rebuilt the workflow in Salesforce for cases and process systems for the firm to gain compliance for case overview and management; developed the mechanism for the workflow and financial information; trained the staff and attorneys on the new platform. Reviewed and edited some of the firm’s internal agreements with employees and policies and procedures. Was the point person with the EXPLOR program at University of Baltimore School of Law and the interns that it placed; was the administrative supervisor for interns and clerks. Screened and preliminarily interviewed associate attorney applicants; interviewed and hired clerks, providing recommendations to Managing Partner regarding final candidates. Spearheaded efforts, drafted portions, managed the team, and compiled the firm’s first employee policies and procedure manual. Assisted the Managing Partner with managing and driving cases and ensuring matters are filed within statute of limitations and balancing the workload of attorneys and paralegals.
