ABOUT NIKOLAUS MELDER

Nikolaus Melder joined Smile Doctors, a portfolio company of Linden and THL, in 2024 as vice president of finance strategy. In this role, he leads strategic financial initatives and provides decision support to more than 430 locations in 29 states. Prior to Smile Doctors, Nikolaus spent three years at U.S. Anesthesia Partners (\"USAP\"), a portfolio company of WCAS; Berkshire Partners; and GIC, as a director in the corporate finance group shaping finance strategy and providing crucial decision support. Prior to USAP, Mr. Melder was an associate at Raymond James in the health care services investment banking group and spent eight years at VMG Health providing valuation services to health care service companies. Mr. Melder’s experience includes acute care hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, behavioral health, cancer treatment centers, dental service organizations, diagnostic imaging, emergency transport, home health and hospice, physician practices, pharmaceutical distribution, physical therapy, urgent care, and other ancillary health care service businesses.Mr. Melder holds a Master of Business Administration with honors from The University of Texas at Austin - McCombs School of Business and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University.Mr. Melder co-authored the chapter for physician practices in the American Bar Association healthcare valuation book, collaborated in the development and publication of VMG Health’s Intellimarker Multi-Specialty ASC Benchmarking Study, and has been published in Becker’s ASC Review and ImagingBiz.
