ABOUT NIKOLAS ESCHEN

As the Vice President, Legal, General Counsel and Head of Legal Germany at Brookfield Properties, I support the company\'s property asset management / real estate management services in relation to real estate investments, development, and management activities in Germany and substantial parts of continental Europe. I have almost 20 years of experience in the real estate sector, with a focus on real estate law, corporate law, and property law. I also hold a credential as a Real Estate Investment & Finance Advisor from the European Business School Oestrich-Winkel along with a LL.M.(Master of Laws) from the University of Virginia School of Law (Class of 2002). I am passionate about delivering high-quality legal services and solutions that enable the company to achieve its strategic and operational goals, while mitigating risks and ensuring compliance. I have successfully handled complex and diverse legal matters, such as acquisitions, disposals, leasing, financing, litigation, and regulatory issues, involving various types of properties, such as office, retail, residential, and mixed-use. I have also developed and maintained strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as business units, senior management, regulators, auditors, and external counsel. I am a collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented leader, who values integrity, excellence, and innovation.
