ABOUT NIKO SPIRIDELLIS
I’m a student at New York University’s Tisch Institute for Global Sport, pursuing a B.S. in Sports Management with a minor in Spanish, and set to graduate this Fall 2026. Originally from Los Angeles, I’ve lived and studied in Madrid and Buenos Aires, shaping a global perspective on sport as a conduit for the most sincere human stories. Storytelling through sport is at the center of my work. I serve as Festival Director of the NYU Sports Film Festival, where I lead programming, partnerships, marketing, and production – managing a team of graduate and undergraduate students that scales to 30+ during the festival. This year, I expanded the festival’s scope by introducing feature-length films and launching its first-ever sports photography program, while developing new industry collaborations that elevate original sports media ideas. I am also producing an hour-long television special with SportsNet New York (SNY), translating the festival into a broadcast format for regional distribution.I recently completed an internship with Red Bull NY and now continue part-time with the club, supporting event operations across MLS, NWSL, and MLS NEXT Pro matchdays at Sports Illustrated Stadium. In this role, I support stadium operations, event setup and conversion, and on-the-ground coordination with teams, league officials, and partners, gaining hands-on experience in live sports production, logistics, and large-scale event management.At NYU, I am a Dean’s Scholar at SPS and lead a seminar course, mentoring 15 first-year students in their academic and professional development. I also serve as Director of Communications for the Undergraduate Sports Business Society, leading strategy and outreach to connect students with opportunities across the sports industry.Beyond my professional work, I practice photography as a creative outlet, focusing on visual narratives across sport, culture, and everyday moments.
