WORK HISTORY
Solicitor @Thompsons Solicitors
Sheffield, GB
I joined Thompsons in an administrative capacity and was encouraged and supported by the firm to develop my career, becoming a Legal Executive and then qualifying as a Solicitor. I use my experience and expertise to help provide justice for working people.I have extensive knowledge of all types of accident compensation claims, industrial diseases, and road traffic accident claims. In 2008 I authored the Yorkshire and Humber TUC report on BAME involvement in trade unions. I am a former joint chair of the Northern branch of the Black Solicitors Network.I mentor students and schoolchildren on how to pursue careers in law and feel passionately about the life-changing difference mentoring can make to young people; I founded Youth Can Achieve to reach out and help young people after speaking about my own experiences and personal journey to become a Solicitor. I\'m also actively involved with other organisations such as the Black Solicitors Network and Sheffield Hallam University to ensure that the door to the legal profession is open to all.
