Nikitra Bailey is the Executive Vice President at the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA). Ms. Bailey leads the Public Policy and Communications departments while also serving as a member of the Resource Development Committee. She is responsible for developing and spearheading visionary, comprehensive policy and communications strategies to implement NFHA\'s mission of eliminating all forms of housing discrimination, ensuring everyone has decent, stable, affordable housing in well-resourced, opportunity-rich communities free from bias, and supporting over 200 member organizations. Ms. Bailey provides thought leadership for the organization; liaises with policymakers and other stakeholders; and works collaboratively with NFHA\'s departments, membership, and the Board of Directors to promote housing equity. Recently, she led advocacy to secure passage of the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2022, which provides $10 billion in relief for COVID-19’s hardest-hit homeowners including socially disadvantaged individuals. She is a contributor to the Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls’ Black Women Best Policy Framework, a comprehensive policy framework for centering Black women at the root of policymaking to achieve a more equitable and just future for all. She serves as the co-chair of the Black Homeownership Collaborative’s Civil & Consumer Rights Workstream. Ms. Bailey provided expert testimony to Congress on a range of fair and affordable housing issues and appears frequently in national media.
