About Niki English
With over 15 years of experience in the fashion industry, I specialize in guiding brands at all stages of growth set up systems for long term success. I am an expert in design, fit, and domestic and international production. Starting with concept, sketches, and tech packs to fittings, and moving on to assortment planning, costing and negotiations, production quality assurance and compliance, I have an end-to-end understanding of what it takes to get high-quality product produced and delivered. I have extensive experience in children’s apparel and CPSIA standards, testing, and compliance. I have worked with over 150 fashion brands across all apparel and softgoods categories, bringing millions of dollars of product to market. My background spans contemporary, mass-market, and private-label fashion. In my role as Sr. Director of Brand Development at AJG Fashion Consulting, I was the first point of contact for Founders looking for support for their launching and growing fashion brands. I provided clear strategies, onboarding and training, and continued on to oversee every stage of product development. Prior to that, I worked at One Jeanswear group where I was the Designer for the Denim Junior, Plus, and Tween categories for Jessica Simpson. My first years in the industry were spent at Ann Taylor, Vivienne Tam, Jones New York, and more. In my personal time, I am passionate about sustainable fashion education. Since 2019, I’ve taught fashion and fiber arts courses at Munson (Utica’s art museum and a Pratt extension) and collaborated with Utica Creative Reuse to make design education accessible to all.
