ABOUT NIKHIL PINTO

Hi! I\'m Nikhil and I\'m an experienced Software Engineer.I started off my software engineering journey by taking the wrong major - electronics engineering. But that didn\'t stop me from doing what I love to do today - writing code and building systems.I\'ve worked at Quantiphi as a Full Stack Developer building web applications for clients like E&Y, HSBC using Angular 8, Python - Tornado, GCP services like FirestoreDB. I also worked on some critical internal tools like building an internal search engine using Elastic Search and building an end-to-end portal for the Legal team to view, iterate and approve legal documents in one unified flow. I was also one of the founding engineers of the Web Team at a fin-tech startup called Epifi (Fi Money). Some of my notable contributions were - improving the reliability of our website using Prometheus, Grafana, Pyroscope, Building backend-driven financial calculators, Secure sign-in flows with 2-factor authentication, IP whitelisting and role-based access control for different personas.I learnt a lot through my time here from being an individual contributor and later on transitioning to a leadership role of managing 5+ developers.Most recently, I earned my Masters in Software Engineering at Ontario Tech University with a GPA of 4.15/4.3 and I\'m currently a Software Developer at Zensurance.When I\'m not on VsCode or have 100 Chrome tabs open, I enjoy playing Football & Table Tennis, catching up on the latest tech gadgets, or simply binge-watching my favourite shows.I\'m always open for a good chat about career, software, tech or even listening on anything you\'re passionate about!Skills/Interests: Typescript, NodeJS, NestJS, Javascript, PostgresDB, MongoDB, ReactJS | Backend, DevOps, Distributed Systems.
