At US Bank, I’m leading the development of a real-time, event-driven data platform on AWS to support critical use cases like fraud detection, customer behavior analytics, and compliance reporting. We’ve built scalable ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, PySpark, and Lambda to process terabytes of structured and unstructured data from databases, APIs, and Kafka (via AWS MSK and Kinesis). I developed Kafka-based Python consumers for near real-time ingestion and enrichment, writing data to Redshift and S3 with schema evolution support using Avro and Parquet. For analytics, we optimized Redshift performance using WLM, materialized views, and partitioning, while leveraging Databricks for heavy data processing and ML training. Business teams access curated datasets via Tableau and Power BI. To ensure data quality and compliance, we use Great Expectations, PyTest, IAM, and encryption. CI/CD is managed via Jenkins, Bitbucket, and AWS CodePipeline, with Docker and Kubernetes enabling scalable Spark workloads. This platform supports key decision-making across the enterprise with fresh, reliable data.
