My journey in AI kicked off with fraud and anomaly detection, sparking a passion for solving real-world problems through data. With 6+ years as a Machine Learning Engineer/Data Scientist, I’ve delivered impactful AI solutions across banking, telecommunications, insurance and technology industries.It started in banking, where I designed real-time fraud detection systems that sped up credit card payment settlements by 20% with 90% accuracy, using decision trees, SVMs, and deep neural networks. At Yuser Inc, I built a KNN-based (collaborative) recommendation engine with real-time optimization, boosting app engagement and cutting costs by 30%. At Bell Canada, I leveraged BERT-based NLP models and MLOps tools (MLFlow, Docker) to automate supply chain tracking, lifting productivity by 30%. Now at Aviva Canada, I’m shaping telematics for usage-based insurance—processing 1Hz big data with Python, PySpark, and Hadoop. I am using telematics data to create in-house driver (XGBoost-based) scoring models to analyze driving behavior, detect fraud, and drive savings by replacing third-party services—while proving the program’s profitability to expand into commercial fleet management. My toolkit—Python, PySpark, Scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, AWS (Certified Machine Learning - Specialty), and MLOps—powers my work, from my master’s computer vision project to scalable deployments. I bring curiosity and pragmatism to every challenge, thriving in collaborative settings where I can learn, lead and mentor. Looking ahead, I’m driven to become a leader in AI, with a focus on ethics—building systems that are responsible and powerful.
