Climate-KIC is Europe\'s largest public-private climate change partnership and a EU initiative, supported by European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). Climate-KIC is currently coordinating the NetZeroCities initiative to co-design and implement the EU\'s ambitious Climate Cities Mission. The Mission Platform supports 112 European cities achieve their 2030 climate-neutrality goals - through climate action plans,\'systems innovation\' portfolios and pilot projects.My role encompasses strategic, technical and knowledge management to support multiple European municipalities and multi-stakeholder consortia - towards co-designing and delivering EU-funded climate innovation programmes. My current role is situated at the intersection of: strategic learning and sense-making processes, local economic development planning, impact design, Monitoring Evaluation & Learning (MEL), policy & governance innovation, and systemic transition practices. In this capacity, I also support the UNDP\'s Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) initiative for secondary cities in the EU\'s 5 Eastern Partnership countries (Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine).

ABOUT NIKHIL CHAUDHARY
Nikhil is a sustainable urban development & climate policy professional with 15+ years of transdisciplinary experience in co-developing and implementing sustainability and climate action programmes for global non-profit orgs - with cities in 18 European, Asian and Latin American countries. He has undertaken substantial policy research and cross-geographical capacity building for local governments and civil society organisations, having trained over 600 municipal officials in 13 countries in sustainable development and climate transition practices. Nikhil\'s technical, design and research expertise spans a range of interconnected urban sustainability domains: transport and energy policy, spatial planning, smart cities, urban resilience, SDGs (7,11,13), regulatory frameworks and public sector innovation. He is proficient in the application of complex systems thinking to the collaborative governance of public-private and civil society partnerships - driven towards strategic learning and innovative climate solutions. Nikhil is also an internationally published and exhibited comics artist and visual communications trainer. In this capacity, he has helped several NGOs, communities, and research organisations in crafting outreach and communications tools - aimed at impactful advocacy and dissemination of environmental issues through creative storytelling.
