ABOUT NIHAR PHALAK

Chemical engineer with 10+ years industry experience in research and technology development, techno-economic evaluations and manufacturing support. Results-oriented with a proven track record of leadership demonstrated while assuming increasing responsibility. Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and deliver through diverse, global multidisciplinary teams. Self-starter and a keen learner with good communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships. I am passionate about the role of technology to deliver clean, affordable and secure energy. I am always interested in roles/experiences that build on my strong technical background with the aim of becoming a well-rounded professional who can deliver robust and lasting solutions. I have a strong ability (and inclination) to \"zoom out\" to understand the big picture and contextualize the problem before focusing on problem-solving. I continuously seek new ideas for improvement but firmly believe that it is very important to learn from history - to learn why similar ideas did/didn\'t work - so that our constrained resources are put to good use. I have been consistently recognized as someone who can simplify complex subjects, tailor content to suit the given audience and effectively communicate the subject matter. I am an avid reader and especially enjoy non-fiction books. My favorite topics are history, energy, finance, politics, business; and the intersection of these subjects. I am also interested in value investing and devote significant time to learn it systematically - I find that many learnings are broadly applicable to life, personal and professional.
