I work in the float pool so I am able to gain clinical experience in many different units such as rehab, observation, ICU, CCU, oncology, and medical/surgical. I implement nursing care plans, provide direct and indirect patient care, record initial and ongoing patient information, take vitals, assist with mobility of patients, obtain specimens for diagnostic tests, assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, elimination, and grooming. I also change linens, serve as a monitor for the unit, engage in safety rounding and medical charting.Adheres to HIPPA.

ABOUT NIHAAL RANA
My name is Nihaal Rana and I am a junior majoring in Clinical Professions at Florida State University with plans to attend Medical School. Over the summer in 2023, I worked part-time as a Patient Care Technician for HCA Florida West Hospital and am continuing this position part-time at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Currently, I am involved in the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program as a research assistant conducting research regarding the relationship between transgender individuals and substance abuse. I am a member of the Florida Zeta chapter of the Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity. I am also a part of Light the Night in which my position is Internal Outreach.
