About Niha Mitha

Presently, I am enrolled in the Master\'s of Public Health program at Georgia State University, specializing in Biostatistics, and I am on track to complete my degree by May 2024. Furthermore, I hold a BSPH degree from the same institution. My decision to pursue advanced studies at Georgia State was influenced by my participation in the 4 + 1 program. Alongside my academic pursuits, I served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Study Abroad Office and actively engaged with various campus organizations. Following my graduation, my intention is to seek out employment opportunities in the field of data analysis and biostatistics. I aspire to apply my expertise and continue my learning journey within a professional setting.

   Clarkston Community Center

   As a Book Buddy at the Clarkston Community Center, I support K-8th grade students in the Afterschool Quiet Zone 2.0 program by: • Providing one-on-one and group tutoring. •Assisting students with homework and fostering academic growth. •Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for BIPOC, immigrant, refugee, English Language Learner youth, and youth with disabilities. •Collaborating with the team to set up and break down educational activities.This role allows me to contribute to the educational success of a diverse student population while gaining hands-on experience in community service and youth education, highlighting the vital connection between education and public health by addressing social determinants that impact long-term health outcomes.
