SSE Energy Solutions is the Distributed Energy and Private Networks business of SSE plc. We finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial and residential customers - providing them with a market leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset managementAs Head of Operations & Asset Management, I am accountable for all Operational & Asset Management activity across SSE\'s District Heating business. During this time I have also led on our operational readiness position across various other sectors such as our Solar and Battery Storage BESS sectors.A brief summary of key elements of my role includes: • Setting of and then delivery of all Maintenance obligations with the use of internal and external resource.• Creation and management of all associated maintenance contracts. • Setting and delivering to challenging operational budgets and associated targets. • Creation and delivery of long term refurbishment and replacement programs across complex networks. • Transformed our operational arrangements to ensure we will be compliance with future regulatory requirements that come into force across the district heating industry from 2026. • Developed and delivered new operational & asset management IT solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of my operation.• Worked collaboratively with the business development team to secure multiple new opportunities across both the Heat and Solar & Battery Sector. • Created a detailed Business Readiness plan for new business sectors such as Solar & Battery at a time of significant growth and have then gone on to implement that plan. This includes Safe systems of operation, Opex and Capex commercial modelling and short/long term Asset Management strategies.• Brought multiple new systems into operation whilst ensuring we provided a seamless service to our customer base.
