ABOUT NIGEL VINCENT E
At Quilter, I have overall responsibility for all data protection matters, as I did at the RNLI beforehand, including regulatory liaison and strategic direction. Operating in the second line of defence, a significant part of my role is risk management and horizon scanning, ensuring that global trends are tracked (both for International Data Transfers and for emergent regulations) and I am fully versant with the UK Data Protection Act, the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulations and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR). I am comfortable presenting at all levels of an organisation and have developed the training and awareness activities across both organisations, including the corporate CBT and bespoke training for Executive teams and customer facing areas.I provide regular briefings to Executive Teams and the Board Risk Committees. I am accountable for the strategic direction for the compliance with the data protection laws of all territories of operation and work closely with business teams and technology initiatives to ensure a compliant, pragmatic programme of change. I lead the development of the processes and tools required to demonstrate the organisations position regarding accountability, managed the relationship with all regulators and implement tools to track risks and mitigations.I am also leading the development of standards, approach and governance for Artificial Intelligence across the group. At Quilter, we utilise multiple modules within the OneTrust platform.Previously, I was a Project, then a Programme Manager specialising in Information Management and Information Security for the past twelve years and, in this capacity I have managed, as well as the GDPR initiative, the PCI DSS regulations, an Information Security Improvement Programme which included Role Based Access Controls, enhanced security log monitoring, implementing ASV scanning and Information Classification. These skills are essential in being able to design and implement an effective privacy programme. At LV=. I managed change initiatives in both the technical and organisational areas of the organisations and in 2014 I was nominated, and became a finalist for the British Computing Society (BCS) awards in the IT Manager of the Year category.I have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, build strong relationships and am comfortable talking to stakeholders at all levels of a business and have also undertaken speaker assignments at several industry conferences.
