The Business Development Manager role for UL in the Building & Life Safety Technologies (BLST) is a challenging but enjoyable position. The role is primarily to lead development of strategy and plans for the expansion of service offerings in the areas of Life Safety & Security in Europe. The scope expands as needed to include some aspects of the Building Materials and Suppression areas for development purposes. Working effectively with the Business Division Managers and Directors in and outside of BLST developing and executing strategies involving both organic and inorganic growth initiatives. This requires good communication across multiple functions and divisions which is a critical aspect of the position to ensure success is delivered in all developments. Over the last 10 years I’ve spent significant time developing and maintaining business relationships with clients, prospects and stakeholders to identify unmet needs and translate these needs into new services with UL\'s commercial and operations teams. Ultimately the aim of the role is grow business through market lead demands and anticipate they key needs of clients to ensure we are ahead of the market, all while being cost effective and delivering on time with internal consensus.
