ABOUT NIGEL STARR HONS PGDIP IENG

An ex-RAF Aeronautical Engineering Officer and ex-RN Air Engineering Artificer with a wealth of hands-on practical experience at practitioner and supervisory level in the Rotary Wing maritime and Support Helicopter environment. Experience gained through the exploitation of wide-ranging technical knowledge, attained from the “ground-up” in an engineering, maintenance support and delivery role, over 14 years with the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm) and 14 years with the Royal Air Force. This included maritime and land based operational Rotary Wing experience in austere locations. Employed for the past 2 years in the UK Defence Sector, as a Project Management Consultant supporting multiple Defence projects delivered through effective communication, flexible willingness to take the lead or support the team as required with a focus on customer requirements and attention to detail, delivering problematic projects within time, cost and performance. Situationally and commercially aware, he is an accomplished orator with excellent interpersonal skills. An expert motivator, he possesses the ability to create, build, motivate and lead team members, stakeholders and internal and external agencies, ensuring satisfactory outcomes for a broad range of projects whilst maintaining the needs of the customer at the centre of all he does. In his current role, he brings the following skills to bear in his daily work; leadership, communication, team working, organisation, time management, task focus and analysis.
